The websites of record companies also are a great venue to find where new music and musicians can be heard as they invariably will give you information about forthcoming music events and festivals that would feature predominantly new bands and they supply links to the festival sites or venues in order for you to be able to purchase tickets. Potential singers can contact the label directly but quite often they themselves are approached when the producer of the record label has seen them doing a set in a pub or club and he feels that their style and music would sit well with other artists on the label.
